JAW CRUSHERS 
The outer shell resembles a meter cube or a meter and a half per side depending on the capacity, we can see a pair of wheels placed vertically on the sides at the top.
The feed is from the top and the crushed material is released from the bottom. The housing or frame is generally one piece to give greater strength to the assembly. The wheels are called flywheels, and are kinetically balanced to give stability and bearings without asymmetric wear. This pair of flywheels receives from the motor through a band, the energy for the movement to an eccentric shaft that provides cyclic movement to the pressure plate. The coatings are fractioned so that only those parts with the greatest wear can be replaced. They are modulated and designed in such a way that they have the possibility of being used both on the left wall or on the right side interchangeably, reducing inventory costs.
The principle to fragment the rock used in these machines is the pressure as in the cone. But here two plates are used, one of completely fixed platform, and one of mobile pressure. The movable plate has a stroke that brings it about an inch to the platform plate, exerting pressure on the rock and fracturing it. Both plates are closer to each other in the lower part, and are moving away towards the upper part. This is to be able to capture the larger particles above, and to go them sliding towards the lower part by gravity as they reduce their size.
In case of jamming by crushers, the pressure plate is held by a system of damping of hydraulic cylinders that prevent damage to the machine and retract the plate to release the material from obstruction.
The distance and the stroke of the pressure plate towards the platform plate are adjustable, according to the maximum size of aggregate that is desired and the type of material that is being crushed.
